Ada L. Showers

Ada L. Showers, 90, formerly of Lewisburg, died on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at Rolling Hills Healthcare and Rehab, Millmont.

Born January 7, 1929 she was a daughter of the late Rolliff E. and Hazel R. (Treon) Beaver.  On January 12, 1949 she married Lee R. Showers, who preceded her in death on April 26, 1988.  Together they celebrated 39 years of marriage.

Early in life, she worked outside the home at the soda fountain for Rea & Derick, Sunbury.  Ada spent most of her life raising and taking care of her family. 

She was baptized in the old Lutheran faith.

Ada enjoyed crocheting, making braided rugs and camping.  She also loved music of all kinds.

Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, David L. and Karen Showers, of Dry Valley and Robert R. and Deborah Showers, of Mifflinburg; one daughter Susan M. Showers, of Mifflinburg; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda L. and Palmer Wright, of Lewisburg and Judy and John Etinger, of New Columbia; a brother and sister-in-law, John and Audrey Beaver, of Lewisburg; seven grandchildren, Michael Koonsman, Shane Swartzlander, Nichole Kreiser, Robby Showers, Jeff Showers, Robert R. Showers, Jr., and Justin Showers; 15 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son, James Michael Showers; a daughter, April May Koonsman; two brothers, Harold and Robert Beaver and one sister, Beverly Martin.

Family and friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, S. Second and St. Lewis streets, Lewisburg, where the funeral will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Ricky Phillips, officiating

Burial will follow in Lewisburg Cemetery.
