Donald R. "Pap" Poust

Donald R. “Pap” Poust, 86, of Lewisburg, passed away Friday, April 21, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born October 31, 1930 in Milton, a son of the late James and Ella Poust.  On February 9, 1951, he married the former Dorothy L. Maize and together they celebrated 58 years of marriage before her passing on April 21, 2009.

Donald was a 1948 graduate of Milton High School and served honorably in the United States Navy.

He retired from the former Shippers Car Line, a division of ACF Industries, Milton.  While working there, he also served as Correctional Officer and Deputy Sheriff for Union County, and a part time police officer for Lewisburg.

Pap loved spending time with his family, especially camping at the family cabin in Poe Valley.

Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, D. Richard Jr. and Anita Poust, of Williamsport; one daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Arnold Fausey Jr., of Sunbury; one granddaughter, Amy Poust, of Williamsport; a sister-in-law, Mary Poust, of Milton; two nieces, Diana Weikel, of Lewisburg and Barbara Landis, of Kreamer; and two nephews, Tony and Charles “Skip” Snyder, both of Milton.

In addition to his wife and parents he was predeceased by one brother, four sisters; a great-niece, Nichole Weikel; and a nephew, Gary Auten.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.

The family is being assisted by the Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, South Second and St. Louis Streets, Lewisburg.
