Donna M. Slear, of Lewisburg, passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at the Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.
Donna was born September 28, 1949 in Dauphin County. She was a daughter of the late Paul E. and Geneva E. (Sanders) Crow. On October 6, 1973, she married Gary W. Slear, who preceded her in death July 4, 2006. Together they celebrated 32 years of marriage.
Donna was a graduate of Lewisburg High School and the former Ellen Cushing College, near Philadelphia.
She worked as a public notary for her father for a number of years. Donna spent most of her time raising and caring for her family.
Donna was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Lewisburg.
Earlier in life, she was active in the Rainbows, Rebekahs and Order of the Eastern Star.
Donna enjoyed reading, doing word searches and playing bingo at Elmcroft. Also, she loved cooking and sharing recipes to anyone she could share them with.
Surviving are two daughters and one son-in-law, Jennifer A. and George, Jr. Aram, of Honesdale and Bethany L. Slear, of Lewisburg; one sister and brother-in-law, Marian and Ernest DiMenna, of Wichita, KS.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, at the Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, S. Second and St. Louis streets, Lewisburg and from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the Faith Lutheran Church, 2349 Old Turnpike Rd, Lewisburg, where a funeral will be held at 11 a.m. with her pastor, the Rev. Sarah Hershberger, officiating, assisted by the Rev John E. Lee, retired Methodist minister.
Burial will follow in the Mazeppa Union Cemetery.
The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to either the Union County Historical Society, 103 S. Second St. Lewisburg, PA 17837 or to the Union County Library, 255 Reitz Blvd. Lewisburg, PA 17837.
