Edwin B. Sampsell

Edwin B. Sampsell Jr., 86, of Sulphur Spring Road, Montgomery, passed away on Thursday, April 21, 2016.

He was born September 7, 1929 in Watsontown, a son of the late Edwin B. Sr. and Dorothy (Douple) Sampsell.  On May 19, 1956, he married the former Wilhelmina J. Hakes, who preceded him in death on November 6, 2015. Together they celebrated 59 years of marriage.

Edwin retired from Bethlehem Steel.

Surviving are four sons and three daughters-in-law, Red Sampsell, Ron and Cathie Cross, Edwin III and Jeannine Sampsell and Harry and Jackie Sampsell, all of Montgomery; one daughter and son-in-law, Nadine and Scott Beck, of Montgomery; three brothers, Robert, William and Henry; five sisters, Shirley, Patricia, Thelma, Donna and Judy; 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family in Elimsport Cemetery.

The family is being assisted by Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, 308 Main St., Watsontown.
