Esther Trowbridge

Esther P. Trowbridge, formerly Esther Capwell, a longtime resident of the

Towanda area, passed to her final comfort on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at the age of 101.

She was a lifetime member of the First United Methodist Church, Towanda serving as the church secretary for many years.  Esther worked at several establishments over the years, retiring after 23 years from DuPont.

She is survived by her sons, John C. (Kandis) Capwell, of Lewisburg and Gerald K. (Chris) Capwell, of Alta Loma, CA and one step-daughter, Kathy Browning, of New Concord, OH.  She also left behind two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She is predeceased by her mother, Ordelia Parks, and husbands, Guthrie Capwell and James Trowbridge.

A Memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 16 at the First United Methodist Church, 105 Main Street, Towanda, PA 18848.

Memorial donations will be gratefully accepted by the First United Methodist Church, 105 Main Street, Towanda, PA 18848 or to a charity of one’s choice.

The family is being assisted by Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, S. Second and St. Louis streets, Lewisburg.
