Evelyn J. Plotts

Evelyn J. Plotts, 92, a longtime resident of Watsontown, passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2017, at Nottingham Village, Northumberland.

She was born December 2, 1924 in Manhattan, NY, a daughter of the late William and Mildred (Schwartz) Moore.  She married A. LaRue Plotts Jr. on April 9, 1949 and together they celebrated 46 years of marriage until his passing on February 9, 1996.

Evelyn graduated high school in New York City.  She spent her younger years raising her family and taking care of the home.

She was a lifetime member of the Watsontown American Legion Post 323 Ladies Auxiliary.  Evelyn enjoyed her flower gardens, sewing and attending public sales.  She also spent many winters traveling to Florida with her husband.

She is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, David Plotts, of Watsontown and Paul and Donna Plotts, of Point Twp.; one daughter, Janet Aikey, of Watsontown; one brother and sister-in-law, Peter and Nancy Moore of Crawford, NE; two sisters, Peggy Homan, of White Deer and Cookie Young, of Milton; four grandchildren, Andrea Prutzman and her husband, Shawn, Robert Hoey Jr., Justin Plotts and Joshua Plotts; and three great-grandchildren, Bailey Lorah, Mali Prutzman and Xandir Plotts. 

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by one sister, Florence Moore; and one brother, Edward Moore.

Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, 308 Main St., Watsontown, where the funeral will be held at 11 a.m.

Burial will follow in the Watsontown Cemetery.
