Harold Shook Obituary

Harold D. Shook, 83, of Watsontown, passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born July 8, 1936 in Williamsport, a son of the late Raymond Shook and Clara (Phillips) Shook Rea. He and his wife, the former Nancy L. (Hill) Reynolds, who survives, were married Oct. 14, 1972. Together they celebrated 47 years of marriage.

Harold was a 1954 graduate of Watsontown High School. He served in the Marine Corps for eight years. Harold worked at the former Milton Wood Products, Zenith Corp and retired from the former American Home Foods, now ConAgra, Milton.

He was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Watsontown. Harold was a former member of the Watsontown Fire Company, a member of the NRA and a life member of the Milton Moose Lodge 171 and the Friendship Park CB Radio Club.

An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, going out on the boat and cook outs. Harold was fond of going to Forksville in the fall to watch the bears get weighed in. He also enjoyed wood working and spending time in the garage. Above all, he loved spending time with his family.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a step son, Kenneth Reynolds and his wife, Angela, of Watsontown; a step daughter, Penny Raup and her husband, Robert, of Watsontown; four grandchildren, Robert Raup II, Jamie (Jerald) Loyek, Kari (Kraig) Keener and Kendra Reynolds; and five great-grandchildren, Lydia Keener, Zayas Reynolds, Gavin Loyek, Frank Rodriguez and Harper Loyek.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a step father, Wilbur Rea and a brother, Wilfred Berger.

Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, 308 Main St., Watsontown, where a funeral will be held at 11 a.m. with his pastor, the Rev. James H. Fladland, officiating.

Burial with full military honors will follow in the St. John’s Lutheran Church Cemetery at Delaware Run.

The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 400 Main St. Watsontown, PA 17777.
