Helen D. Myers

Helen D. Myers, 77, of Allenwood, passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Riverwoods, Lewisburg.

She was born September 22, 1940 in Allenwood, the daughter of the late Ira H. and Violet M. (Fisher) Frontz.  On September 9, 1961 she married Joseph Myers, who survives.  Together they celebrated 56 years of marriage.

Helen was a 1958 graduate of Montgomery High School and 1961 graduate of Polyclinic School of Nursing, Harrisburg.  She worked as a registered nurse for White River Junction VA Medical Center, Vermont and later at the former Kramm’s Nursing Home, Wasontown and Williamsport Hospital.  Following her work as a nurse, Helen became a stay at home mom, raising her family.

She was a member of Community Christian Church of Allenwood.

Helen loved being outdoors and especially enjoyed bird watching.  Her greatest joy in life was her grandchildren.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are one son, Steven P. Myers and his wife, Cindy K. Troutman-Myers, of Watsontown; one daughter, Jennifer Haga and her husband, Carl Jr., of Pelham, AL; one brother, Ira H. Frontz Jr. and his wife, Mary Jane, of Kissimmee, FL; and five grandchildren, Andrew and David Myers, and Benjamin, Emily and Annie Haga.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by one son in infancy, Matthew Douglas Myers.

Friends will be received from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at the Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, 308 Main Street, Watsontown, where the funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. with Pastor Dennis Huratiak, officiating.

Burial will be held privately in the Uniontown Cemetery, Allenwood.

The family will provide the flowers and suggests contributions in Helen’s name be made to the Community Christian Church, P.O. Box 34, Allenwood, PA 17810.
