Jack DeWire Obituary

Jack E. DeWire, 76, of Milton, passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at UPMC Susquehanna, Williamsport.

He was born December 16, 1941 in Winfield, son of the late Guy and Katherine (Kauffman) DeWire. On February 14, 1998, he married the former Jaynanne Croner, who survives. They have been together for 38 years and would have celebrated 20 years of marriage next Wednesday.

Jack was a 1959 graduate of Lewisburg High School. Earlier in life, he was a salesman for West Branch Beverage, Milton. Jack later retired from Heavy Duty Parts, Milton, where he delivered truck parts.

He was a member of Winfield Baptist Church.

Jack was a social member of the Kratzer-Dull American Legion Post #182, Lewisburg.

Loving sports, he was an avid New York Yankee, Penn State and Dallas Cowboys fan.

Jack enjoyed gardening.

Most importantly, he loved spending time with his family and friends.

Surviving in addition to his wife are his two children, Kathy Koch and her husband, John and Michael DeWire; two sisters, Beverly Dodge and Mary Monroe; two brothers-in-law, Walter Croner and his wife, Jamie and their son, Dylan and Michael Croner; two grandchildren, John Koch and his girlfriend, Harmony Miller and Aaron Koch and his wife, Sierra; and two great-grandchildren, Owen and Sadie.

In addition to his parents, Jack was predeceased by his step mother, Ruth (Musser) DeWire.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Winfield Baptist Church, 330 State Route 304, Winfield, where a Funeral Service will be held at 1 with Pastor Corey Mitchell, officiating.

Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family in Montandon Cemetery.

The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to either the Winfield Baptist Church, 330 Route 304 West, Winfield, PA 17889 or the American Lung Association at www.lung.org.

The family is being assisted by the Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, South Second and St. Louis Streets, Lewisburg.
