John W. Hoffman, 75, of 811 Elm St., Watsontown, passed away Sunday, May 17, 2015 at the Watsontown Health and Rehab Center, where he had been a patient for the past five months.

He was born January 31, 1940 in Watsontown, a son of the late Emanuel and Pauline (Raup) Hoffman. On January 30, 1965, he married the former Lydia Diehl, who survives.

John was a 1958 graduate of Watsontown High School.

He had been employed at Philco Ford, Montgomery Mills and McCormicks Janitorial Service, retiring in 2009.

A member of the Watsontown Baptist Church, John served as custodian for 24 years.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 50 years are two step daughters, Bonnie Mensch and her husband, Harry, of Milton and Audrey Robbins and her husband, Woodrow Robbins, Jr., of Dewart; a brother, Myron Hoffman, of Albert Lea, Minn.; two sisters, Eleanor Allison, of Turbotville and Virginia Emery, of Watsontown; seven step grandchildren; eleven step great-grandchildren and seven step great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Gene and Ned Hoffman; two sisters, Nancy Hoffman and Ruby Stover; and one step granddaughter, Kelley Steinbacher.

In honor of John’s wishes there will be no services. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Watsontown Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in John’s name may be made to the Watsontown Baptist Church, 501 Main St., Watsontown, PA 17777.

The family is being assisted by Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, 308 Main St., Watsontown.
