John W. Zeiber, 77, of Milton, passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at his home.

He was born May 24, 1940 in Lewisburg, a son of the late Fred L. Jr. and Grace E. (Fedder) Zeiber. On December 23, 1966 he married the former Shirley Rowe, who survives. Together they celebrated 51 years of marriage.

John was a 1958 graduate of Milton High School.  He served honorably in the United States Army from 1958 to 1966.  After his time in the service, he worked for Bucknell University and H. Warshow and Sons.  He later retired from ACF Industries after 12 years of service.

He formerly attended Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Milton.

John loved hunting at Trout Hole Rod and Gun club, Hillsgrove, and participated in trap shooting at Shower’s Gun Club, New Columbia. He also enjoyed spending time with friends at the Checkered Flag, Milton and attending Milton football games, but his greatest passion was spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving in addition to his wife are one son and daughter-in-law, Troy and Denise Zeiber, of Bloomsburg; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Robin and Joe Lupo, of West Milton, Michelle and Pat Rutledge, of Florida, and Julie Rocuskie, of Milton; two brothers, James Zeiber and his companion, Kay Brown, of New Columbia, and Craig and Freda Zeiber, of Montgomery; 10 grandchildren, Jennifer (Chad) Sowers, Joseph Lupo, Dani Rae Zeiber, Troy Zeiber, Jr., Miranda Zeiber, Sybil Perrin, Travis Rocuskie, Nathan Rocuskie, Brittany Weaver and Brandi Weaver; and two great-grandchildren, Easton Sowers and Meela Sowers.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one brother, Maurice “Zeke” Zeiber; two sisters in infancy; and his first wife, Connie Eyster.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.

The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to Evangelical Hospice, 1 Hospital Drive, Lewisbsurg, PA 17837.
