Welcome to the memorial page for

June K. Seaman

May 14, 1932 ~ October 16, 2017 (age 85) 85 Years Old

June K. Seaman, 85, of 4008 Westbranch Highway, Lewisburg, passed away on Monday, October 16, 2017, at her home, surrounded by her family, after a brief but brave battle with lung cancer.

She was born on May 14, 1932, in Buffalo Crossroads, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Earl and Carrie (Malady) Kline.

She attended a one-room schoolhouse in Buffalo Crossroads until attending Lewisburg Area High School, where she was proud to be a majorette in the marching band.  As a child she sang at local festivals, beginning a lifetime love of music and singing.  Following graduation from Lewisburg Area High School in 1950, June went to work for Pennsylvania House in Lewisburg, and later worked in the admissions and payroll departments at Evangelical Community Hospital.

June married Terry Seaman in 1953.  Terry and June built their house on Westbranch Highway soon after they married.  There they raised two daughters, Sheila, born in 1957 and Stacy, born in 1963.   June worked at Buffalo Valley Telephone Company for 20 years, retiring in 1995.  Terry passed away in 2012 after nearly 60 years of a marriage filled with laughs, travels, good times with family and friends, and great joy.  She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, where she sang in the church choir for many years and devotedly volunteered in many capacities.

June was well-known by her many friends for her ability to enjoy every day of life.  She prepared legendary meals, planned great family gatherings, and was always ready for a shopping trip.  June was very creative and excelled at all crafts that caught her fancy, including cooking, sewing, needle work, leather tooling, and even stamp collecting.  She loved any kind of music, from rock and roll to choral, and enthusiastically attended concerts and Music in the Park.  She traveled with Terry and her family to England, the Caribbean, and Mexico, but her favorite destination by far was Arizona. Any outing with June was a happy one. She was always in a good mood, and in our memories, she will always be laughing.  June and Terry were part of a circle of close friends who met every morning for coffee for many years.  In recent years, June attended the Silver Sneakers exercise program at the Silver Moon Fitness Center, where she enjoyed the camaraderie of a group of friends, as well as the exercise program.

June was a fun-loving, warm-hearted mother and grandmother who leaves behind a family painfully feeling her loss.

She is survived by her daughters and their husbands, Stacy and Peter Doorn of Cary, North Carolina, and Sheila Seaman and Mike Williams of Leverett Massachusetts, two grandsons, Thomas and Christopher Doorn, cousins Sandy Gabriel and Sharon Miller, a cousin-in-law, Sherry Moschgat, a sister-in-law, Jane Reamer, two nieces, Paula Hlad and Valerie Reamer, and one nephew, Eric Reamer.

June also leaves behind her cherished cats, Russell, Annie, Reggie, and Chester.  Her beloved sister-in-law, Gaynel Ruhl predeceased her in February, 2017.

The family thanks June’s Home Instead caregivers and the compassionate nurses of Lewisburg Visiting Nurse Association.

A memorial service will be held on October 28, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at St. John’s United Church of Christ, 1050 Buffalo Road, Lewisburg with June’s pastor, the Rev. Dr. Robert Stoudt and her nephew, the Rev. Eric Reamer officiating.

Interment will be by private ceremony in Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington.

The family suggests that memorial contributions in lieu of flowers be made to S.U.N. Pets, P.O. Box 64, Lewisburg, PA 17837.
