Margaret J. Hafer Leisenring

Margaret J. Hafer Leisenring, 85, of Sunbury, died Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at Mountain View Manor, Coal Township.

Born November 1, 1930 in Pittsburgh, she was a daughter of the late Arthur J. Sr. and Margaret T. (Hughes) Hafer. 

Margaret was a 1950 graduate of Scotland School for Veteran’s Children.  She retired from Sunbury Textile Mills. After retirement Margaret enjoyed being a foster grandmother at Oaklyn Elementary School, Sunbury.

She was of Catholic faith.

Margaret was a life member of the Thomas-Brill Post #1532, V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary, Sunbury and a member of the Selinsgrove Moose Lodge #2244.

She loved her family and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Margaret also enjoyed playing bingo.

Surviving are two sons and one daughter-in-law, Michael and Kathy Guyer, of Lewisburg and Patrick Guyer, of Northumberland; two daughters and sons-in-law, Von and Douglas Treas, of Sunbury and Lori and Michael Stypula, of Pittsburgh; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Joe and Stella Hafer, of Danville and John and Marilyn Hafer, of New Berlin; one sister, Leona Beck, of Lewisburg; one sister-in-law, Shirley Hafer, of Lewisburg; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by one daughter, Sherry Guyer, three brothers, Art Jr., Frank and Donald Hafer and one sister, Mary Rose Bailey.

Friends will be received from 10 to Noon Monday at Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, S. Second and St. Louis streets, Lewisburg, where the funeral will be held at Noon with Deacon Richard Owen, officiating.

Burial will follow in Lewisburg Cemetery.

The family will provide the flowers and suggest contributions in Margaret’s name be made to either the Donald L. Heiter Community Center, 100 North Fifth Street, Lewisburg, PA 17837 The family is being assisted by Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, S. Second and St. Louis Streets, Lewisburg or a children’s charity of one’s choice.
