Peter S. Loughead, 53, of Lewisburg, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, November 15, 2016, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.

Born April 14, 1963, in Lewisburg, he was a son of the late John Rea Loughead and Margaret (DeLuca) Loughead, who survives.  On December 19, 1998, he married Heidi Zimmerman, who survives.  Together they celebrated 18 years of marriage.

Peter was a graduate of The Hill School, Pottstown, PA.  He received his undergraduate degree from Washington College, Chestertown, MD and his master’s degree from Widener School of Law.

He worked as a financial consultant.

Peter enjoyed mentoring young people and was passionate about helping them reach their full potential.   In addition, he was a talented craftsman and took great pleasure in restoring classic sports cars and boats.

Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are one daughter, Haley Machamer, of Lewisburg; six siblings, John Loughead and his wife, Anna, of Albuquerque, NM, Michael Loughead and his wife, Nancy, of Pittsburgh, Mary Loughead and her husband, David Eckhart, of Pottstown, Lois Bridges and her husband, Scott, of Park City, UT, James Loughead and his wife, Shira, of Philadelphia and Jake Loughead, of Baltimore, MD, one granddaughter, Evalynn Pelham and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.

Donations are being accepted for the PETER S. LOUGHEAD MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND, a scholarship to be awarded annually to a student at Sun Area Technical Institute, New Berlin, PA.  Please forward donations to 227 ½ North 2nd Street, Lewisburg, PA 17837.
