Rita K. Quinlan

Rita K. Quinlan, 90, of 2816 Smoketown Rd., Lewisburg, passed away Monday, December 26, 2016 at her home.

She was born June 17, 1926 in Bryn Mawr, a daughter of the late Joseph and Elsie (Noblitt) Conway. She and her husband, Edward J. Quinlan, Jr., celebrated 33 years of marriage before his death Dec. 25, 1994.

Rita was a 1944 graduate of Notre Dame High School and a 1947 graduate of Sacred Heart Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as an ER Nurse at the Bryn Mawr Hospital and as a nurse at the Lee Tire Company, Conshohocken.

Rita was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Lewisburg.

She was a volunteer at Evangelical Community Hospital, the American Red Cross and the Susquehanna Visitors Bureau.

Surviving are three sons and two daughters-in-law, Father Edward J. Quinlan, of Harrisburg, Michael and Alma Quinlan, of Lambertville, NJ and Mark and Rhonda Quinlan, of Lincoln University; a daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Charles Erickson, of Mifflinburg; a brother, James Conway, of Marietta, GA; and seven grandchildren, Kelly Kappler, Kathleen Earp, Matthew Quinlan, Christopher Quinlan, Heather Dampman, James Hill and Olivia Erickson.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Mary Lee Quinlan and a brother, Joseph Conway.

Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the Sacred Heart Church, 41 S. Eighth St., Lewisburg, where Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., with her son, Father Edward J. Quinlan, officiating.

Burial will follow in Lewisburg Cemetery.

The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to the Sacred Heart Church, 41 S. Eighth St., Lewisburg, PA 17837.

The family is being assisted by the Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, S. Second and St. Louis streets, Lewisburg.
