William Edgar "Bill" Nunn

William Edgar “Bill” Nunn, 83, formerly of Picture Rocks and Oneonta, New York, passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at Riverwoods, Lewisburg after an extended illness.  

Born in Picture Rocks on May 3, 1932, he was the son of the late Gerald L. and Helen S. (Brown) Nunn.  On June 25, 1960 he married the former Patricia Ann Wood, who preceded him in death on August 24, 2007.

Bill was a graduate of Blue Ridge High School, New Milford, and Bloomsburg State Teachers College.  Bill’s calling in life was to help mentally and physically challenged children realize their potential.  He was a special education teacher for several years prior to becoming the Administrator of The Upstate Home for Children, now Springbrook, in Oneonta, New York from where he retired. 

He was a member of Beaver Memorial United Methodist Church, Lewisburg.

Bill loved to travel, and had visited numerous European countries on his many excursions.  He was an active member of several educational and volunteer organizations.  Bill was also an expert family historian; and was a proud member of the General Society of Mayflower Descendants, and the Society of Mayflower Descendants in Pennsylvania.

A memorial service is being planned for the spring and will be announced at a later date. 

The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to Albright Care Services, c/o RiverWoods Benevolent Care Fund, 90 Maplewood Drive, Lewisburg. PA 17837. 

The family is being assisted by the Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, South Second and St. Louis Streets, Lewisburg.
