Betty Burrows Obituary

Betty J. Burrows, of Lewisburg, died on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at Nottingham Village, Northumberland.

She was born in Elysburg, the daughter of the late George and Emma (Bell) Campbell. On May 17, 1942 she married Richard Glenn Burrows, Sr., who preceded her in death on December 26, 1996. Together they celebrated 54 years of marriage.

Betty worked as a retail clerk at various local stores such as the former Hertz, Milton and the former Children’s Center, Lewisburg.

She was a lifelong member of St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, Sunbury.

Earlier in life, Betty was a member of the Lewisburg Chapter #394 Order of the Eastern Star.

She enjoyed crocheting and traveling all over the county in a camper with her husband.

The most important thing in Betty’s life was her family and she always made sure they came first.

Surviving are her children, Betty J. Murray and her husband, James, of Northumberland, Richard G. Burrows, Jr. and his wife, Sandy, of Sunbury and Cynthia K. Burrows, of Texas; seven grandchildren, Andrea, Barbara, Jim, Jason, Megan, Stephen and Brandon; 21 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by one daughter, Linda J. Flock, two granddaughters, Monique and Adrienne and five brothers.

A celebration of Betty’s life will be held at a later date.

Burial will be held in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Shamokin.

The family will provide the flowers and suggest contributions in Betty’s memory be made to American Cancer Society, Lycoming Unit, 1948 E. Third St., Williamsport, PA 17701.

Betty’s family would like to thank the staff at Nottingham Village for the excellent care she received while living there for the past five years.

The family is being assisted by Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, South Second and St. Louis Streets, Lewisburg.
