Carrie N. Brouse

Carrie N. Brouse, 100, of Lewisburg, passed away on June 27, 2017 at Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village, Lewisburg.

She was born August 8, 1916 in Adams Twp., Snyder County, the daughter of the late Reed and Alberta (Heeter) Narehood. On June 27, 1937, she married Harold Brouse and together they celebrated 70 years of marriage until his death on April 28, 2008.

Carrie graduated in Snyder County.  She worked as a bookkeeper for the former Walter’s Oldsmobile, Lewisburg.

She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Lewisburg since 1940. Carrie was very active in the church, involved in the Women’s Guild, Consistory, recording secretary and Sunday school secretary.

Surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by one brother, Erwin Narehood.

Friends and family will be received from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, South Second and St. Louis Streets, Lewisburg, where a funeral service will be held at 11 with Rev. Dr. Robert Stoudt, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Lewisburg Cemetery.

The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions in Carrie’s name be made to St. John’s United Church of Christ, 1050 Buffalo Rd., Lewisburg, PA 17837.
