Charles Keiffer Obituary

Charles R. "Bob" Keiffer, 73, of Watsontown, passed away Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

He was born July 21, 1944 in Danville, the son of the late Charles and Dorothy (Yocum) Keiffer.  On December 8, 1962 he married the former Brenda Reitz, who survives. Together they celebrated 55 years of marriage.

Bob was a 1962 graduate of Trevorton High School.  He worked at the Lycoming Division of Avco for several years and in 1970 started working for PPL, where he retired in 2001 as a Mechanic Leader.

He faithfully attended the Delaware Run Wesleyan Church, Watsontown, where in the past, he organized the Christian Youth Crusaders (CYC), and for several years was the director.  Bob also formerly served as the Sunday School Superintendent and lay leader for several years.

Bob was involved with Yokefellow prison ministry at the Muncy State Correctional Institution for more than 15 years.

He was an avid fisherman and hunter and received the triple trophy award from the PA Game Commission.  He was currently a member of the NRA and formerly a member of the Union County Sportsmen and Yellow Breaches Anglers Association.  Bob loved playing Santa Clause on the phone and bringing joy to children during the holiday season.  He also enjoyed spending time at his cabin in Union County, but most of all, loved being with his children and grandchildren.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Lee Klinger, of Northumberland; a son and daughter-in-law, Dwayne and Traci Keiffer, of Dillsburg; two sisters, Brenda Tucker, of Watsontown and Muriel Moyer, of Turbotville; and three grandchildren, Kevin Klinger and his wife, Johanna, and Kimberly and Jason Keiffer;

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters, Maida Jean and one in infancy.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Delaware Run Wesleyan Church, 5570 Musser Lane, Watsontown, and again from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church, where the funeral will be held at 11 a.m. with Pastor Michael Reece, officiating.

Burial will follow in Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington.

The family will provide the flowers and suggests contributions in Bob's memory be made to Delaware Run Wesleyan Church, 5570 Musser Lane, Watsontown, PA 17777.

The family is being assisted by the Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, 308 Main Street, Watsontown.
