James Yonkin Obituary

James R. “Jimmy” Yonkin, Jr., 54, of New Columbia, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, February 27, 2019 

He was born August 29, 1964 in Lewisburg, a son of the late James R. Sr. and Caroline E. (Snyder) Yonkin.   

Jim was a 1982 graduate of Milton High School. Early in life, he would work for ConAgra, Milton, Great Coaster, Selinsgrove, C&I Boilers, Montoursville. Most recently, Jim worked for Millwright Local 443, Lebanon.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking. Most importantly, Jim loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. 

Surviving are his son, Seth Yonkin, of Milton, his daughter, Cherakee Yonkin, her daughters, Nevaeh and MaKya and her significant other, Quinten Leitzel and his son, Jakson, all of Northumberland; sister and brother-in-law, Hazie and Jeffrey Young, of New Columbia,; one nephew, William Hoover, of NC, one niece, Tiffany Spayd and husband, of FL; one great-niece, Kennedy Kain and two great nephews, Landon and Tyler Kain.

Friends will be received from Noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, at the Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, 308 Main St. Watsontown.

The family will provide the flowers and suggests contributions in Jim’s name be made to Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, 308 Main St. Watsontown, PA 17777 to help defray expenses.
