Martha Elizabeth deCastro

Martha Elizabeth deCastro, 50, of Lewisburg, passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at the Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.

She was born October 3, 1967 in Anderson, SC, a daughter of the late Ronald Gary Parks and Joyce Gail (Hand) Parks, of Maine.

Inspired by her Grandmother and her own life experiences, Martha dedicated her life to helping others going through family crises. She earned her master’s degree at Widener University School of Law, Harrisburg, and worked as a domestic abuse lawyer for Women in Transitions, Lewisburg.

Although she had dedicated her life to her work, what was truly most important to her was spending time with her family.

Surviving in addition to her mother are her children, Daniel deCastro and his wife, Jessica, and Melanie Snyder and her husband, Michael, all of Milton; Anna, Alicia, Jennifer, Tabitha and Richard Joel deCastro, all of Lewisburg; two brothers, Michael and Richard Parks, both of Maine; four sisters, Eileen Masellis and her husband, David, and Bonnie and Angie Parks, all of Maine, and Susan Parks of Lewisburg; three grandchildren, Lily deCastro, Andrew and David Snyder; one grandson due next month; and her fiancé, John S. Brown III, of Lewisburg.

The family is planning a memorial service to be held on February 28, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lewisburg Alliance Church, located at 137 Supplee Mill Road, Lewisburg.

The family suggests contributions in Martha’s name be made to Transitions of PA, P.O. Box 170, Lewisburg, PA 17837.

The family is being assisted by Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, S. Second and St. Louis Streets, Lewisburg.
