W. Dale Lose Obituary

W. Dale Lose, 78, a lifelong resident of Watsontown, died Sunday, May 6, 2018 at Watsontown Health and Rehab Center.

He was born on June 7, 1939 in Williamsport, a son of the late Clarence Wilbur and Vera Winnifred (Hunter) Lose.  On December 16, 1960 he married the former JoAnn Rebecca Horn who preceded him in death on September 20, 2015.  Together they celebrated 54 years of marriage.

Dale graduated from the former Watsontown High School.  While in school, he formed a special bond with fellow classmates through the Future Farmers of America (FFA), which he belonged.  This passion carried over to a successful 60 years of running his dairy farm in Watsontown.  Dale worked tirelessly, taking special care of all his animals.

He was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church, Dewart.

Dale also valued the wonderful friendships and relationships he developed with his neighbors through the years, including transporting the Amish Community, which he became very close with.

Surviving are one daughter, Becky Lose, of Watsontown; one daughter-in-law, Susan Lose, of Watsontown; five grandchildren, Aaron (Lindsay) Smith, of Jersey Shore, Allen (Elizabeth) Smith, of Muncy, Cynthia (Dan) Lose-Morgan, of Lebanon, and Ryan and Nicholas Lose, both of Watsontown; four great-grandchildren, Riley, Hannah, Joseph and Joelle Smith; and his cherished neighbors, Amos, Emma and family.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by one son, Roger Lose; two brothers, Charles and Earl Lose; and one sister, Emma Jean Newcomer.

A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday in the McEwensville Presbyterian Cemetery, Route 44, McEwensville, with Pastor Brian Cieslukowski, officiating.

The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to help with the building and emergency funds at St. John's United Methodist Church, 49 River Rd., Dewart, PA 17730.

The family is being assisted by the Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, 308 Main Street, Watsontown.
