William W. "Bill" Crist Sr.

It is with great sadness that the family of William W. “Bill” Crist Sr. announces his passing on September 22, 2018, at the age of 79.

Bill was the son of the late Walter and Grace (Moser) Crist, of White Mills, PA. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 58 years, the former Joan Iloff.

Bill was a 1957 graduate of Hawley High School. He was formerly employed as a heavy equipment mechanic in Williamsport and Berwick.

Bill was a member of the Montandon United Methodist Church. He was a 50+ year member and Past Master of the Lewisburg Masonic Lodge #144, a member of the Milton Masonic Lodge #256 and an honorary member of the Slidell Masonic Lodge #311 in Slidell, LA. Bill was also a 25-year member of the Williamsport Consistory.

He was passionate about volunteering with the Shriners Club, helping transport children with medical needs to Shriners Hospital in Philadelphia. Bill loved RV camping and was a member of the Masonic Camping Club. He enjoyed collecting antique John Deere tractors and belonged to the Buffalo Valley Antique Machinery Association.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, William W. Crist Jr, of Mifflinburg; a daughter, Debra (Crist) Mueller, of Ashburn, VA; a sister-in-law, Doris O’Rear, of NJ; a brother-in-law, Donald (Virginia) Iloff, of TX; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Richard W. Crist and two brothers-in-law, William O’Rear and Gerald Iloff.

Friends will be received from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, at the Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, S. Second and St. Louis streets, Lewisburg, where a Masonic service will be held at 7 p.m. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home, with his minister, Pastor Joan Dodson, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Montandon Cemetery.

The family welcomes flowers, however, if desired memorial contributions be made to either the Montandon United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 86, Montandon, PA 17850 or to Shriners Hospital for Children, 3551 N. Broad St., Philadelphia, PA 19140 or to Mostly Mutts, 284 Little Mountain Rd., Sunbury, PA 17801.

The family would like to give their sincerest gratitude to Dr. Fesniak, Dr. Storm and their staff in the Department of Cardiology at Geisinger Medical Center.
