Alida L. Ritter

Alida L. Ritter, 93, a long time resident of Muncy, died Sunday, April 23, 2023 at Muncy Place.

Born February 1, 1930 in Muncy, she was a daughter of the late Claude E. and Marion B. (Lord) Kerstetter. On August 5, 1948 she married Charles P. Ritter, who preceded her in death November 6, 1981.  Together they celebrated 33 years of marriage.

Alida was a 1948 graduate of Muncy High School. Earlier in life, she worked at the former Montgomery Mills and Muncy Telephone Company. Alida retired from the former Lysock View.  She also served as a babysitter for many children throughout her community.

She was a member the First United Methodist Church, Muncy and the Muncy Fire Department Auxiliary.

Alida was a talented artist and loved painting and drawing.

Surviving are two sons, Thomas P. Ritter and David E. Ritter and his wife, Charlene F., all of Hughesville; two nieces Susan Edner and her husband, William, of Hughesville and Karen Womelsdorf, of Muncy; a brother-in-law, Robert Little, of Hughesville; two grandchildren, Jennifer Miller and her husband, James and Andy Ritter and two great-grandchildren, Zachary and Paige Miller.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by two sisters, Kathryn Shadowens and Elizabeth Marie Reynolds.

Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to noon, Friday, April 28, 2023 at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy, where the funeral will be held at noon with her pastor, the Rev. Richard Robinson, officiating.

Burial will follow in Muncy Cemetery.
