Alma L. Reitz

Alma L. Reitz, 96, a longtime resident of Muncy, died Saturday, November 4, 2023 at Wolf Run Village, Hughesville.

Born May 21, 1927 in Muncy, she was a daughter of the late Chester and Mildred (Michael) Smith.  On March 31, 1951 she married Donald James Reitz, who predeceased her on September 4, 2013.  Together they celebrated 62 years of marriage.

Alma was a 1945 graduate of Muncy High School and later earned her Nursing Degree from the former Williamsport School of Nursing. She started her career as a Registered Nurse at the Williamsport Hospital and later Muncy Valley Hospital, where she retired.

Alma was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church, Muncy.

She is survived by two daughters, Peggy Martin-Buck, of Picture Rocks, and Patricia Grant, of Muncy; two grandchildren, Arthur (Staci) Grant and Ashlee Martin; and one great-grandson, Solomon Grant.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Norma Stackhouse; and a brother, Kimber Smith.

Private burial will be held in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy.
