Dennis L. Chestnut

Dennis L. Chestnut, 54, of Muncy, died suddenly Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at his home.

Born June 18, 1966 in Scranton, he was a son of the late Floyd and Eunice (Hess) Chestnut. He shared his life with his companion of 20 years Patricia Barclay.

Dennis attended Muncy High School. An avid outdoorsman, he owned and operated C & C Tree Service, Muncy. Dennis loved sharing his passion and knowledge of trees with everyone. This was demonstrated by his contributions to the community through, planting trees, assisting non profits and working with the historical society to design the landscaping at Heritage Park, Muncy. Dennis was also fond of riding dirt bike, climbing trees and collecting arrowheads and other Indian artifacts.

Surviving in addition to his companion are two children, Cody Chestnut, of Muncy and Kara Britton and her husband, Vance, of Hughesville; and seven grandchildren, Jacob Gray, Elijah and Corina Weikel, Braylon and Navaeh Chestnut and Crue and Lennan Britton.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Cora Baysore.

Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, at the Church of the Resurrection, 75 Musser Lane, Muncy, where a Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. with his pastor, the Rev. Glenn McCreary, officiating. For everyone’s safety we ask that all attendees adhere to the social distancing guidelines and wear a mask.

The family suggests memorial contributions in Dennis’s  memory be made to Grenoble Funeral Home to help defray funeral costs, through www.myremembrance.com, which will provide the family with a personalized keepsake that lists every donor’s name who so graciously donated in his memory.
