Gary L. Spiegel

Gary L Spiegel died peacefully at home in Lewisburg, on Sunday, Oct. 4, at the age of 78. Anyone who knew Gary enjoyed his light-hearted spirit. Born in Williamsport on Jan. 17, 1942, he was the son of the late Henry G. and Doris Remaley Spiegel. He graduated from Williamsport Area High School in 1960, and went on to serve our country in the U.S. Air Force. He returned to Williamsport, and was formerly employed by Brodart, then retired after a lengthy career at the U.S. Postal Service on Reach Road.

Gary enjoyed gardening in his backyard, and was an avid book and pipe collector. He loved to read and listen to music. His grandchildren always enjoyed his silly jokes. In prior years he was a member of the Lewisburg Lions Club.

Gary’s legacy will forever be remembered by his partner and husband, Gary Kauffman; his son, Marc Spiegel, and three grandchildren, Kenzie, Jake and Nicolas of Pittsburgh; his brother, Keith Spiegel of Williamsport; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother and father as well as his brother, Kenny.

Gary’s life will be celebrated in a private graveside service at Greenlawn Memorial Cemetery, Allenwood.
