Gregory D. Booen, 68, of Watsontown, died Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at UPMC Susquehanna, Williamsport.
Born July 4, 1953 in Great Falls, Montana, he was the son of the late Dale and Millicent (Holum) Booen.
Gregory was a 1971 graduate of Great Fall High School. He served honorably in the United States Navy and later graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Penn State University. Gregory worked many years as an electrical engineer for Armstrong World Industries, Lancaster. In 2019, he retired from Thermal Product Solutions in New Columbia, PA.
Gregory enjoyed traveling and had the opportunity to visit many foreign countries and 49 of the 50 U.S. states. He took pictures of all his excursions and loved to share them with family and friends. He was an avid collector of many things, including Science Fiction books. He also loved studying genealogy and was able to trace both sides of his family back many generations.
Surviving are two sisters, Dale Marie Latimer, and her husband David, of Lancaster, and Betty Burkhart, of Northeast, Maryland; and his beloved nieces and nephew.
Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
