John E. Fillman Jr.

John E. Fillman Jr., 62, of Allenwood, died unexpectedly on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.

He was born December 29, 1960 in Williamsport, a son of the late John E. Sr. and Betty Louise (Sauers) Fillman. He married Angie Masser on December 9, 1995 and together they celebrated 27 years of marriage.

John was a 1978 graduate of Williamsport High School.  He was a retired member of the Laborers Local 1108, formerly local 708, working as a general laborer and mason tender.

John had a huge heart and enjoyed woodworking and spending time outdoors.

Surviving in addition to his wife are three children, Rachel Fillman, of Allenwood, Tiffannie Mutchler, of South Williamsport, and Jordan Fillman, of Williamsport; three sisters, Gail Fox, Kim Mazzante, and Debbie Peluso, and one brother, William (Rich) Fillman, all of Williamsport; and seven grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one brother, Fred “Butch” Spong; and one sister, Carole Spong.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, October 15 at 4 p.m. at the Washington Presbyterian Church, Allenwood.
