June E. Pewterbaugh

June E. Pewterbaugh, 91, of Muncy, died Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at Muncy Place.

Born July 7, 1932 in Muncy, she was a daughter of the late Capt. Arthur T. and Ruth P. (Vandersloot) Eaker. On August 27, 1949 she married the love of her life, Howard H. “Petie” Pewterbaugh. Together they shared nearly 60 years of marriage until his death on April 15, 2009.

June was a 1950 graduate of Muncy High School. She enjoyed raising and caring for her family.

She was a member of the Muncy Presbyterian Church.  June was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Peace River, Arcadia, Florida, and held duel membership with the Watsontown Order of the Eastern Star.

June was fond of interior and exterior decorating.

Surviving are one daughter, Ruth Schneider, of Pennsdale; two sons and daughters-in-law, William and Deborah Pewterbaugh, of Montgomery, and Dick and Mary Pewterbaugh, of Pennsdale; one sister, Diane Akers, of Muncy; six grandchildren, Chris, Eric and Tyler Schneider, and Josh, Ben and Zach Pewterbaugh; five great-grandchildren, Karson and Maxwell Schneider, and Cora Jane, Piper and Molly Pewterbaugh; a special cousin, Margie Eaker Fox, who was like a sister; and numerous nieces and nephews, who were each dear and special to her.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by one son, Craig Pewterbaugh; and two sisters, Patricia Eddinger and Sandra Noyes.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
