Leonard W. Rishel, 75, of Mazeppa, died Thursday, September 17, 2020 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born November 30, 1944 in Turbotville, he was a son of the late Edmund and Faylene (Foust) Rishel. On March 11, 1972, he married the former Carlene Fisher, who survives. Together they celebrated 48 years of marriage.

Leonard attended Milton schools.

He was proud to have served honorably in the United States Army as a bridge specialist during the Vietnam War.

Leonard owned and managed several rentals in the Mazeppa area.

He enjoyed woodworking and working on anything with a motor. Leonard also collected and restored Cub Cadets.

Leonard loved reminiscing about old times with friends and family, most notably his trip to California in 1964.

Most importantly, he cherished spending time with his grandchildren, especially driving golf carts around Mazeppa and fishing.

Surviving in addition to his wife are one son and daughter-in-law, Clint and Alicia Rishel, of New Columbia; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Georgia Aunkst, of Milton, Betty and Dan Baker, of New Columbia and Joyce and Tom Berkheimer, of Lewisburg; four grandchildren, Shawn and Abby Rishel and Alyssa and Dale Mitchell.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Clyde Rishel.
