Loella Haney Bishop Obituary

Loella Mae Haney Bishop, 95, of Lewisburg, died Saturday, October 28, 2023 at Riverwoods, Lewisburg.

Born October 22, 1928 in Punxsutawney, she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Theda P. (Huff) Haney. On May 13, 1950 she married Clarence Martin Bishop, Jr., who preceded her in death April 3, 2003. Together they celebrated almost 53 years of marriage.

Loella was a 1946 graduate of Clearfield High School, a graduate of Thompson Business College, Harrisburg and the American Institute of Banking. She worked at the former Dauphin Deposit Bank & Trust (now M&T Bank) for 26 years before retiring.  After retirement, Loella worked for several years in the office for Grace United Methodist Church, Harrisburg.

She was a member of Beaver Memorial United Methodist Church, Lewisburg and Lewisburg Chapter #394 Order of the Eastern Star; along with being a member of Alpha Iota International Honorary Business Sorority.

In her spare time, Loella loved reading, travelling and various arts and crafts. In addition, she volunteered on the Riverwoods Campus and at her church for many years.

Surviving are a sister-in-law, Kathleen Haney and several nieces and nephews; along with various other family members, including her extended family, The Reichert Girls.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by two brothers, Donald C. Haney and Joseph D. Haney.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, November 4 at Beaver Memorial United Methodist Church, 42 S. 3rd Street, Lewisburg with the Rev. Sue Jamison, officiating.

Burial will be held in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

The family will provide the flowers and suggests contributions in Loella’s name be made to either  Albright Care Services, 90 Maplewood Drive, Lewisburg, PA 17837 or Beaver United Methodist Church, 42 S. 3rd Street, Lewisburg, PA 17837

The family is being assisted by Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, South Second and St. Louis streets, Lewisburg.
