Mark Gray Obituary

Mark T. Gray, 74, of New Columbia, died Saturday August 1, 2020 at his home after a yearlong battle with ALS.

He was born September 10, 1945 in Buffalo, NY, a son of the late Thomas F. and Mabel A. (Kowsky) Gray. On October 1, 1977 he married the former Tilghman T. Fraser, who survives.  Together they celebrated 45 years of marriage.

Mark graduated from Buffalo State College with a degree in Electrical Engineering and spent many years self employed as an electrical contractor.

Mark was a Vietnam Veteran having served with the US Marine Corps and later with the US Navy, both as a radio operator.

Mark grew up in the Catholic Faith.

He loved woodworking, hunting and fly fishing.  Mark was also a civil war history enthusiast.

In Addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Kathleen Kearly, of Pueblo,  CO, and Matthew Gray, of Youngstown, OH; four stepchildren, Dennis Laughlin Jr. and his wife, Valeda, of Buffalo, NY, Kelly Laughlin and his significant other, Gigi, of Bridgeport, NY, Jodie Laughlin, of Erie, PA, and Geoffrey Laughlin and his wife, Brenda, of Chicago, IL; one sister, Penny Thomas, of Centre Hall, PA; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one brother, William T. Gray Sr.

Graveside military services will be held on Friday, August 7 at 2 p.m. in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Buffalo, NY.
