Mary Alexson-Wells Obituary

Mary Ann Alexson-Wells, 86, currently of Bloomsburg and formerly of Schenectady, NY, died Sunday, March 21, 2021 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville

Born October 28, 1934 in Schenectady, NY, she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Genevieve Shave.

She married the love of her life, Albert Alexson Sr., who preceded her in death.

Mary formerly worked as a home health aide and bus driver.  Most importantly, she was a loving mother and grandmother raising and taking care of her family.

She was a member of Faith Baptist Church, Winter Haven, FL.

Mary was an avid reader and loved watching old western shows on television.  She also enjoyed puzzles and game shows.  More than anything, she cherished time spent with her family

Surviving are six children, Albert Alexson Jr. and his wife, Mary, of Altamont, NY, Terry Rickabaugh and her husband, Patrick, of Ephrata, Tracy Truesell and her husband, Timothy, of Bloomsburg, Stanley Alexson and his wife, Sayda, of Berwick, James Alexson and his wife, Patricia, of Berwick, and April Alexson, of Bloomsburg; two brothers, Daniel Shave, and Stephen Shave and his wife, Ann, all of Schenectady, NY; 32 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and first husband, she was predeceased by a second husband, Robert Wells; two daughters, Deborah Alexson and Audrey LaFountain; one brother, Edward Shave; and two great-grandchildren, Angelica LaFountain and Isaiah Fausnaught.

Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family in Schenectady Memorial Park and Terrace Garden Mausoleum.

Memorial contributions in Mary’s memory may be made to the American Heart Association through www.myremembrance.com, which will provide the family with a personalized keepsake that lists every donor’s name who so graciously donated in her memory.

The family is being assisted by Grenoble Funeral Home & Crematory, 308 Main Street Watsontown.
