Nancy Eleanor Dodge Sechler

Nancy Eleanor Dodge Sechler, 94, of Lewisburg, died Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Elmcroft, Lewisburg.

She was born September 21, 1926 in Sunbury, a daughter of the late Theron L. and Hazel M. (Gilbert) Dodge.  She and her husband, Jackson G. “Jack” Sechler were married almost 16 years before his death, October 27, 1987.

Nancy retired from Pennsylvania House Furniture, formerly known as the Chair Factory, Lewisburg after more than 50 years as a Finish Inspector.

She was a longtime member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Lewisburg, where she exhibited her love of cooking by preparing numerous church dinners.  Nancy was known for her delicious pot pie.  She also enjoyed bowling, playing dominoes, and watching golf.  Nancy had a very giving heart and was the life of any party.

Surviving are two sons, Jackson G. Sechler Jr. and his wife, Sue and Rodney L. Sechler and his wife, Marion; three grandchildren, Krista Sechler Gardner, Jordan Lee and Timothy Edward Sechler; one great-grandchild, Coen Gardner; 11 nieces; 7 nephews and one sister, Saraelen Dodge Biro, of Allentown.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, K. Gilbert Dodge, Donald E. Dodge, Robert E. Dodge, George (Jack) S. Dodge; and four sisters, Shirley H. Dodge Eisenhower, Grace I. Dodge Herman and infant sister Gladys Mae Dodge.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.  Burial will be held in the Lewisburg Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions in Nancy’s memory may be made to St. John’s United Church of Christ, 1050 Buffalo Road, Lewisburg, PA  17837.
