Nancy C. Wolfe

Nancy C. Wolfe, 87, of Lewisburg, passed away on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at Riverwoods, Lewisburg.

She was born January 31, 1931 in Lewisburg, a daughter of the late Wilbert G. Sr. and Mary A. (Fertig) Wolfe.

Nancy was a 1948 graduate of Lewisburg High School.  Following graduation she worked for the Edwin D. Mensch Agency, Lewisburg, for 16 years, separated by a brief two year period working for an Insurance company in Florida.  She later retired after 30 years as a trust officer at the former Northern Central Bank, now M&T Bank, Lewisburg.

She was a member for over 60 years at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Lewisburg, where she taught in the nursery in her early years, and later served as church secretary for several years.  Nancy also served on the altar guild and various other committees, always willing to volunteer.

She enjoyed going to the movies and travelling to the seashore.

Surviving are one sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Willard Murphy, of Lewisburg; one sister-in-law, Marcia Wolfe, of Lewisburg; eight nieces, eight nephews and 42 great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by one sister, Anna Swinehart; one brother, Wilbert “Skip” Wolfe Jr.; and one great niece, Amanda Waltman.

Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 42 S. 4th St., Lewisburg, where the funeral will be held at 11 a.m. with her pastor, the Rev. Daniel Wilt, officiating, assisted by the Rev. John E. Lee, retired United Methodist minister.

Burial will follow in Lewisburg Cemetery.
