Peter John Velz

Peter was born on July 28, 1931 in Berlin, Germany, the son of American parents Roland J. and Rose Velz. As a young boy, he returned with his family to the U.S. Peter served for four years in the U.S. Air Force, subsequently graduated from Siena College in Albany, NY and attended graduate school at the University of Denver in Colorado. He worked for many years at IBM in Poughkeepsie, NY and retired to Lewisburg in 1997.

Peter is survived by his wife Rosemary of Lewisburg and four children: Peter M. Velz (Kataree) of Virginia, David Velz (Leslie) of Lewisburg, Christopher Velz of Lewisburg, and Jane Velz Kurko(David) of Maine. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Peter T. Velz of New York, Aria Velz of Virginia, and Elke Velz of Virginia and by daughter-in-law Orawin Velz of Virginia.

Funeral services are private and under the direction of Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, Lewisburg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the William Cameron Engine Company, 239 N.5th St., Lewisburg PA.
