Ralph D. Balliet

Ralph D. Balliet, 85, of Muncy, died Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at the Gatehouse, Williamsport.

Born May 16, 1936 in Muncy, he was a son of the late Domer and Kathryn (Tate) Balliet.  On June 7, 1957 he married the former Dorothy Marie Bryan who preceded him in death.

Ralph was a 1954 graduate of Muncy High School.  He served honorably in the United States Air Force.  Ralph worked many years in the insurance industry as an underwriter.

Ralph was of the Lutheran faith.

He was a lifetime member of the Muncy Fire Department for over 60 years, member of the Roland Ritter Post 268 American Legion and the Edward J. Smith Post 3428 V.F.W., both of Muncy, and the Muncy Moose.

Ralph enjoyed camping, and in earlier years, bowling, roller-skating and water skiing.  He also cherished time spent with family, especially with his brother, John.

Surviving are two daughters, Wendy Balliet and her fiancé, Shawn Swinehart, of Williamsport, and Lori Zimmerman and her husband, Todd, of Mifflinburg; two grandchildren, Kayla Miller and Brooke Noll; and four great-grandchildren, Tobin, Finn, Leighton and Adelaide.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by two sons, Steven and Jeffrey Balliet; and six siblings, Donald, Robert, Kay, Phyllis, John and Jim.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.

Interment will be in Green Lawn Memorial Park, Montgomery.
