Robert J. Gillette Jr

Robert J. “Rob” Gillette, Jr., 67, of Muncy, died unexpectedly Friday, August 20, 2021.

Born July 29, 1954 in Lycoming County, he was the son of the late Robert J. Sr. and Lillie R. (McKinney) Gillette. On Oct. 20, 2018 he married the former Debra Dunn, who survives. Together they celebrated two years of marriage.

Rob was a 1973 graduate of Muncy High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. Rob worked as a corrections officer, previously for SCI, Camp Hill and retired from SCI, Muncy.

He was a member of the Revival Tabernacle, Watsontown.

Rob loved putting together models and was very talented at making detailed wooden crafts.  His heart was truly happy when he was fishing.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Cheri Gillette and husband Jeremy Hulett, and child Gabriel Reyes, of KY; a son, Robert J. Gillette III, of Williamsport; a son, Shawn Werner and wife Erika, and children Brianna and Breyben, of AZ; a daughter, Nicole Stambaugh and husband Josh, and children Autumn and Faith, of AZ; a son, James Shultz and wife Rebekah, and child Sophie Yoder, of Unityville; a son, Bradley Rider, and children Payton, Wyatt, Bentley, Dana, Lee and Tara, of Millville; a mother-in-law, Barbara Dunn; and a nephew, Shawn Krouse and niece, Carrie Gibbs.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister and brother-in-law, Bonnie and John Deming.

Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, at the Revival Tabernacle, 960 Susquehanna Trail, Watsontown, where the funeral will be held at 11 a.m. with his pastor, the Rev. James Bond, officiating. Full military honors will follow at the church.

The family will provide the flowers and requests contributions in Rob’s name be made to Grenoble Funeral Home, to help defray funeral costs.
