Shirely Ruth Seese

Shirley Ruth Seese, 94, of Lewisburg, passed away on Sunday June 7, 2020 at Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village, Lewisburg.

She was born October 29, 1925 in Williamsport, a daughter of the late John Jacob and Lola May (Bower) Myers.  On November 25, 1945 she married Dale E. Seese, who preceded her in death on May 17, 2005.   Together they celebrated 59 years or marriage.

Shirley was a 1943 graduate of Jersey Shore High School.  She worked for many years at the former L.L. Stearns, Williamsport, while also raising and taking care of her family.

She was a former member of the DuBoistown United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir for 50 years and was a current member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Lewisburg.

Shirley enjoyed reading and spending quality time with family and her extended community at Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village.

She is survived by two daughters Nadine Wagner and her husband, Bill, of Lewisburg, and Yvonne Dean and her husband, Lynn, of Gainesville, VA; one brother, Jack Myers, of Williamsport; one brother-in-law, Daniel Seese and his wife, Deloras, of Williamsport; five grandchildren, two step grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a sister-in-law, Delores Myers.

A memorial service is being planned and will be announced at a later date.

The family suggests contributions in Shirley’s memory be made to the Pennsylvania Wounded Warriors, Inc. 1117 Country Club Rd. Camp Hill, PA 17011.

The family is being assisted by Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, South Second and St. Louis Streets, Lewisburg.
