Frances L. Daugherty

Frances Lenora Daugherty, 89, formerly of Lewisburg, peacefully passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at Valley View Retirement Community, Belleville.

She was born February 19, 1927 in Mifflinburg, a daughter of the late Charles and Alma (Stover) Wolfe. On August 16, 1947, Frances married Lawrence L. Daugherty and celebrated 56 years of marriage before his death on June 26, 2004.

Frances was a graduate of Mifflinburg High School. She was a secretary at Linntown Elementary school and later retired from the former Union National Bank, now First National Bank, Lewisburg.

She was a former member of St. John’s United Church of Christ and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 321, Williamsport.

Frances was an avid boater with her husband and family.  She enjoyed time locally on the Susquehanna River and travelling to the Finger Lakes and Canada.  She loved flower gardening, baking, cooking and bowling.  Most joyful to Frances was her family, especially spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving are one daughter, Linda Daugherty-Steinbach and her husband, Robert, of Boalsburg; one brother, Rodger Wolfe and his wife, Mary, of Lewisburg; one brother-in-law, Tom Aber and his companion, Cindy, of Milton; one sister-in-law, Janet Wolfe, of New Berlin; three grandchildren, Dr. Eric Steinbach and Alexis Steinbach and Joshua Steinbach.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by two brothers, William and Donald Wolfe; and two sisters, Katherine "Doll" Shannon and Phyllis Kreisher.

Friends will be received from 1:30 to 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 15 at Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, 106 S. Second St., Lewisburg where a Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m.

Burial will follow in the Lewisburg Cemetery.

The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions in France's name be made to Pets Come First, 2451 General Potter Hwy, Centre Hall, PA 16828
