Lillian M. Arndt

Lillian M. Arndt, 86 of Shamokin Dam and formerly of Mt. Pleasant Mills, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.

She was born July 19, 1930 in Perry Township, Snyder County, a daughter of the late Lester Kline and Florence (Minium) Knouse. She married Russell G. Arndt on July 24, 1948. Together they celebrated 61 years of marriage before his death Apr. 7, 2010.

Lillian was a 1947 graduate of Selinsgrove High School. She worked as a seamstress at various local garment factories.

Lillian was a member of St. Thomas Independent Church, Mt. Pleasant Mills, where she was a past Sunday school teacher and vocalist. A devoted Christian mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she currently attended Zion’s Church of Kratzerville, Selinsgrove, with her family.

Lillian enjoyed sewing, reading and socializing, most recently with her friends at Stayman Park.

Cherished are a son, Guy Arndt (Darlene Ramsay), of Augusta, WV; a daughter, Diane Nace, of Selinsgrove; six grandchildren, Jeremy Nace, of Beavertown, Rebekah (Kyle) Golla, of Lewisburg, Guy Arndt, Jr. (Mindy), of Honolulu, HI, Jenna Arndt (Leon Tilghman), VA, Tisha Sellers (Angela), Bloomsburg and Bradley Arndt (Brooke Bohrer), of WV; and five great-grandchildren, Russell and Roy Weston Arndt, LilyGrace and Kanyan Golla and Collin Tilghman. Also surviving are siblings, step brother, Carl Miller, of MD; two half brothers, Leonard (Barbara) Kline, of MD and Robert (Marie) Kline, of Liverpool; half sister, Cindy (Larry) Chubb, of Liverpool; half brother-in-law, Robert Reichenbach, Mt. Pleasant Mills; sister-in-law, Irene Kline, of Lewisburg; step sister-in-law, Nova Knouse, Mt. Pleasant Mills; and half sister-in-law, Cathy Kline, of Laceyville.

In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased by her step father, William Knouse; son-in-law, Donald Nace; brother, Russell Kline; step brother, Robert Knouse; half brother, Jack Kline; step sister, Wilma Knouse; half sister, Patricia Reichenbach; and a step sister-in-law, Norma Miller.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Garman Funeral Home, 9366 Rt. 35, Mt. Pleasant Mills and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the St. Thomas Independent Church, 1070 St. Thomas Rd., Mt. Pleasant Mills, where the funeral will be held at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Kevin Rathmell, pastor of Zion’s Church of Kratzerville, officiating.

Burial will follow in St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant Mills.

The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to either the Gideon’s International, P. O. Box 382, Selinsgrove, PA 17870 or St. Thomas Independent Church, 1070 St. Thomas Rd., Mt. Pleasant Mills, PA 17853 or to Zion’s Church of Kratzerville, 4106 Rt. 204, Selinsgrove, PA 17870.
