Olive June Musser

Olive June Musser, 98, of Lewisburg, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at Riverwoods, Lewisburg.

She was born June 13, 1918 in Union County, a daughter of the late M. Russell and Esther (Oldt) Ritter. On October 12, 1939, she married Marlyn Leroy Musser and together they celebrated 66 years of marriage before his death on December 30, 2005.

Olive worked for several years in dining services at Bucknell’s Swartz Hall.

She was a member of St. John’s Church of Dry Valley.

Olive was an excellent seamstress, making beautiful quilts and clothing.  She enjoyed raising her family and spending time with them as much as possible.

Surviving are three daughters and two sons-in-law, Grace Ann and Douglas Burks, of New Cumberland, Linda and John Courter, of Lewisburg, and Marie Rau, of Dallas, TX; one brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Betty Ritter, of Dry Valley; one sister, Eva Bennett, of Dry Valley; four grandchildren, Brenda and Annette Sauers, Jeffrey Burks and Kimberly Petroff; six great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by one son, Kenneth Musser; one brother, Eugene Ritter; one sister, Jennie Eberhart; and one brother-in-law, William Bennett.

Friends will be received from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Friday at St. John’s Church of  Dry Valley, 3667 Rt. 304, Winfield, followed by the funeral at 11:30 a.m. with her pastor, the Rev. Ricky Phillips, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Dry Valley Cemetery.

The family will provide flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to St. John’s Church of  Dry Valley, 3667 Rt. 304, Winfield, PA 17889.

The family is being assisted by Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, S. Second and St. Louis streets, Lewisburg.
