James "Jim" Calabro

James “Jim” Calabro, 75, of 478 Dogwood Ridge Rd., Montgomery, died Friday, September 18, 2015 at his home.

Born November 12, 1939 in Wilkes-Barre, he was a son of the late James and Frances (Stacknewicz) Calabro. He and his wife, the former Margaret “Peggy” McKee, recently celebrated 31 years of marriage.

Jim was a graduate of Nanticoke High School. He served three years in the U. S. Army Signal Corps, as a Morse code telegrapher, radio telegrapher and tape relay operator. Jim started his career as an electrical foreman for Koser Electric, Williamsport, where he was employed for many years. He also worked as a maintenance supervisor for ACF, Milton, West Company, Williamsport and the Montgomery School District, from where he retired.

Jim was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Watsontown. He was also a 34-year member of the IBEW, an active member of the Mifflinville Fire Company, and a member of the Clyde F. Mowrer American Legion Post #323, Watsontown. Jim was a full member of the AIPE (American Institute of Plant Engineers). He spent years on the steering committee and was also a full member of the AMMA (a PPL sponsored organization for maintenance managers).

Jim enjoyed years as a Little League Umpire.

Surviving in addition to his wife are four children, Jim and Diana Calabro, of Picture Rocks, Sherri and Jeff Morrison, of Lewisburg, Terri and Scott Fleming, of Glen Burnie, MD and Gregg and Dana Moser, of Watsontown; three brothers and one sister-in-law, John and Karen Calabro, of OK, and Stanley and Francis Calabro, both of Pittston; eight grandchildren, Nathan, James, Carissa, Laura, Rachel, Seth and Garrett; and five great-grandchildren, Grace, Tyler, Mia, Ethan and Ivory.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three brothers, Augustine, Daniel and Walter Calabro and one sister, Valerie Acornley.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.

Burial will be held in Delaware Run Cemetery, Watsontown.

The family is being assisted by Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, 308 Main St., Watsontown.
