Marie E. Schiebel

Marie E. Schiebel, 91, of Lewisburg, died Sunday, September 27, 2015 at the Manor at Penn Village, Selinsgrove.

Born May 22, 1924 in Lewisburg, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Dorothy (Mook) Swinehart.  On May 1, 1948 she married Frank H. Schiebel, who preceded her in death January 25, 1970.  Together they celebrated 22 years of marriage.

Marie was a 1943 graduate of Lewisburg High School.  She served in the United States Army as a surgical technician and later retired as a nurse’s assistant at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.

She was a member of Christ's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lewisburg.

Marie enjoyed crafting, gardening and spending time on her computer.

Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Frank and Sally Schiebel, of Arkansas and Richard and Deborah Schiebel, of Ohio; three sisters, Lucille Urash, Janet Metzger and Charlotte Rowe; six grandchildren, Steven, Kristy, Caitlin, Daniel, Erin and RC; five great-granddaughters, Katherine, Sarah, Emily, Rory and Rhian; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by three brothers, Leon, Ernest and Harry Swinehart; and two sisters, Helen Mae Gramly and Jean Platt.

Friends will be received from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, 106 S. Second St. Lewisburg, where the funeral will be held at 10 a.m. with her pastor, the Rev. William S. Henderson, officiating.

Burial with full military honors will follow in Lewisburg Cemetery.

The family will provide the flowers and suggests contributions in Marie’s memory be made to Christ's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 100 S. Third St., Lewisburg, PA 17837.
