The Total Package.  Smack-Daddy Cool.  Underwear Man.  Uncle Liam.  The Italian Stallion.  Ok, that last one is Rocky, but still, it’s oddly fitting even though he was neither Italian nor a Stallion (though he’d debate this one with you).  He was a man of many names, and was many things to many people, but most of us would know him best as Billy B.

William J. "Billy B" Brudecki, 66, of 813 Elm St., Watsontown, passed away Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.  We’re certain he would rather have been at the Hollywood Casino, but these things happen, and so we’ll play the hand we were dealt.

Billy was born December 15, 1950 in Brooklyn, NY a son of the late Frank Brudecki and Frances "Mickey" (Black) Brudecki, who survives.  He was a beige man.  He’d want us to be very specific about that.  He and his wife, the former Margaret J. "Peggy" Talbot, were married June 30, 1973, though they met much earlier than that in a candy store that was owned by his Peggy Talbot’s mother.  His future mother-in-law told him he had a “filthy mouth,” and the rest is history.  Together Billy and Peggy celebrated 40 years of marriage before her death May 18, 2014.  In an effort to correct a drastic oversight in Mom’s obituary, we want you all to know that she loved ice, but had no respect for soda.  I don’t think any further explanation is necessary.

Billy began his career as a cashier for what used to be an Atlantic Station in Allenwood, PA.  Atlantic became Coastal Mart, Coastal Mart became Sunoco, and dad spent nearly 30 years rising from his humble beginnings as a cashier to an Area Operations Manager for Sunoco.

He enjoyed going to casinos in his free time.  Billy also loved visiting his family in New York and going on vacations with his wife.  Black was his favorite absence of color, white-on-white Reebok’s were his shoe of choice and the man couldn’t get enough pineapple soda and Swedish Fish.

Dad would always say, “Don’t sweat the small stuff… it’s all small stuff.”  Well this doesn’t exactly feel small, but we won’t sweat it, because Dad would have wanted it that way.

Surviving in addition to his mother are two sons, Jason Brudecki and his girlfriend Steph Werner, of Watsontown and Billy Brudecki, Jr. and his fiancé, Amanda Smith, of Glenmoore; and one brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Patricia Brudecki, of Queens, NY.  He will also be dearly missed by Bryan Chad.

Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, 308 Main St., Watsontown.  A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Watsontown Cemetery.

The family welcomes flowers, however; if desired, memorial contributions may be made to The Greater New York City Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, P. O. Box 27963, GPO, New York, NY 10087-27963 or online at www.komennyc.org.
